About
Gabriela Mello (she/her) is a Latinx multidisciplinary artist, Arts Therapist, and the owner and director of Warrandyte Pottery, a vibrant gallery and ceramics studio nestled in the heart of Warrandyte.
Having recently completed a Master’s in Therapeutic Arts with a specialisation in Arts-Based Research, Gabie brings a rare blend of creative depth, professional insight, and relational care to everything she does. Her life’s work is dedicated to fostering community, exploring the nuances of clay, and honouring the intricate relational threads that connect individuals to themselves, each other, and the world around them.
Gabie’s artistic practice is deeply intuitive and grounded in curiosity. Through the interplay of emergent mark-making, texture, colour, form, and material, she creates works that reflect lived experience and invite others into a space of exploration. Each piece she makes is a quiet celebration of connection, presence, and the complex beauty of being human.
Alongside her studio and gallery practice, Gabie offers a range of professional services designed to support other creatives and community members:
One-on-One Artist Mentorship: Personalised guidance for artists seeking support, direction, or deeper connection in their practice.
Art Therapy Sessions: Individual arts-based sessions to support emotional wellbeing and creative self-discovery in a gentle, non-interaptive space.
Studio & Creative Business Consulting: Practical support for artists and makers setting up their own studios or creative businesses, including layout, logistics, and marketing strategy.
Gabie has supported hundreds of artists, students, and community members over the past five years—often going above and beyond to share her knowledge, research, and care. Whether she’s teaching, mentoring, consulting, or making, Gabie’s presence is warm, grounded, and deeply intentional.
She’s here to help others thrive in their creative lives and to hold space for the kind of artmaking that nourishes, transforms, and connects.
